Who counters Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals?

Spider-Man is a Duelist in Marvel Rivals. The heroes who beat Spider-Man most reliably right now are The Thing, Angela, and Doctor Strange, ranked by counter rating.

  1. 1.The Thing+15.2≈ +14%
  2. 2.Angela+12.8Mixed threat≈ +12%
  3. 3.Doctor Strange+11.9Team pressure≈ +11%

Counter ratings are measured from duel and teamfight outcomes in tracked Marvel Rivals matches, not from match win rate. The rating is an index, not a percentage: 0 is a neutral matchup and a higher number means a harder counter. Source: Counterwatch community stats, all ranks, updated Oct 7, 2026.

Ratings come from the kill feeds of community matches: who wins the duels, and whose side dies more in teamfights. Match win rate is excluded on purpose, because it punishes counter picks made from behind. Counters that work by absorbing or denying damage rather than dealing it, like Magneto's shields, are understated by kill data. So are counters that only come online while a team-up is active. Beating Spider-Man FAQ

What is the best counter to Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals?
The Thing is the strongest pick against Spider-Man right now, with a counter rating of +15.2 (an estimated +14% swing to an even fight), followed by Angela and Doctor Strange. The full list below ranks every eligible hero against Spider-Man.
How are Spider-Man's Marvel Rivals counters calculated?
From the kill feeds of community matches: who wins the one-on-one kill trades against Spider-Man, and whose side dies more while both heroes are on the field. Each hero's general strength is stripped out so the rating reflects the matchup itself, and match win rate is excluded entirely because counter-swappers are usually already losing when they swap. Matchups need 50 or more contributing players to appear.
Who is Spider-Man good against in Marvel Rivals?
Spider-Man punishes Iron Man, Rocket Raccoon, and Ultron hardest right now. If the enemy runs one of them, staying on Spider-Man is usually right.
Should I swap off my main to counter Spider-Man in Marvel Rivals?
Only when the matchup is genuinely lopsided. Playing your best hero into a slightly bad matchup usually beats swapping to an unfamiliar counter: the data shows counter-swappers lose more often partly because they are off their main. Use the ratings here to judge how lopsided the matchup really is before giving up your comfort pick.
