Who counters Captain America in Marvel Rivals?

Captain America is a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals. The heroes who beat Captain America most reliably right now are Devil Dinosaur, Peni Parker, and Wolverine, ranked by counter rating.

  1. 1.Devil Dinosaur+17.8Wins the 1v1≈ +16%
  2. 2.Peni Parker+10.0Team pressure≈ +9%
  3. 3.Wolverine+9.9Wins the 1v1≈ +9%

Counter ratings are measured from duel and teamfight outcomes in tracked Marvel Rivals matches, not from match win rate. The rating is an index, not a percentage: 0 is a neutral matchup and a higher number means a harder counter. Source: Counterwatch community stats, all ranks, updated Oct 7, 2026.

Ratings come from the kill feeds of community matches: who wins the duels, and whose side dies more in teamfights. Match win rate is excluded on purpose, because it punishes counter picks made from behind. Counters that work by absorbing or denying damage rather than dealing it, like Magneto's shields, are understated by kill data. So are counters that only come online while a team-up is active. Beating Captain America FAQ

What is the best counter to Captain America in Marvel Rivals?
Devil Dinosaur is the strongest pick against Captain America right now, with a counter rating of +17.8 (an estimated +16% swing to an even fight), followed by Peni Parker and Wolverine. The full list below ranks every eligible hero against Captain America.
How are Captain America's Marvel Rivals counters calculated?
From the kill feeds of community matches: who wins the one-on-one kill trades against Captain America, and whose side dies more while both heroes are on the field. Each hero's general strength is stripped out so the rating reflects the matchup itself, and match win rate is excluded entirely because counter-swappers are usually already losing when they swap. Matchups need 50 or more contributing players to appear.
Who is Captain America good against in Marvel Rivals?
Captain America punishes Rocket Raccoon, Invisible Woman, and Black Widow hardest right now. If the enemy runs one of them, staying on Captain America is usually right.
Should I swap off my main to counter Captain America in Marvel Rivals?
Only when the matchup is genuinely lopsided. Playing your best hero into a slightly bad matchup usually beats swapping to an unfamiliar counter: the data shows counter-swappers lose more often partly because they are off their main. Use the ratings here to judge how lopsided the matchup really is before giving up your comfort pick.
