Frequently asked questions

Which hero should I play with my friend's main in Season 7?
Add your friend's hero to their seat, leave your seat open, and the page ranks every hero by how well they pair with that hero. Best to learn (the default) favours pairs whose abilities combo by design: those picks survive balance patches, which is what you want when picking a hero to main.
What's the best duo for new players in Marvel Rivals?
Stick with Best to learn. New players take weeks to feel comfortable on a hero, and you don't want their pick nerfed into irrelevance halfway through. The Best to learn ranking surfaces pairs whose abilities are built to combo, so the recommendations stay relevant across patches.
What's the difference between Best to learn and Best to win?
Best to learn shows pairs whose abilities are designed to combo, independent of the current patch. Best to win shows the highest-winning duos this season. The first is right for picking a hero to main long-term; the second is right if you just want to climb this patch.
Which one should I pick for my friend?
If your friend wants to main a hero, use Best to learn. Those picks survive balance patches. If you just want to win games together this season, use Best to win.
Can I plan a 3-stack or 5-stack?
Yes. Use the "Add player" button to add up to five players. Each player has their own hero pool. Any seat left empty gets ranked recommendations against everyone else's pools.
Why isn't a hero I expected showing up?
We need at least 200 tracked matches per pair before showing a duo, so rare combos and brand-new heroes need time to build up data. We also exclude any hero already committed to one of your pools: if you main Mercy, recommending Mercy for your friend wouldn't help.
How often does this update?
We regenerate the rankings every day at around 07:00 UTC from thousands of tracked matches. Expect the top picks to stay stable over a patch cycle and to shift when balance updates or new heroes drop.
How we rank duos

We score every pair of heroes two ways, and you can flip between them with the toggle above.

Best to learn (default). These are pairs whose abilities are built to combo: a damage booster paired with a long-range carry, or a tank that wants the team grouped up paired with an aoe healer. Picks here stay strong even when heroes get buffed or nerfed, so this is the right tab if your friend is choosing a hero to main long-term.

Best to win. These are the highest-winning duos this season, across all tracked community matches. Great if you just want to win games together right now, but expect the ranking to shift when balance patches hit.

For each open seat we average the candidate's pair value across every hero in each committed pool, then average those pool scores into one number. If a candidate has no tracked data against any hero in one of your friends' pools, we drop it from the list rather than guess. We also exclude any hero already committed to a pool, because recommending it again wouldn't help.

We only show pairs with at least 200 tracked matches together (so the numbers aren't noisy), and we adjust raw win rates with a Bayesian shrinkage prior so a lucky 10-game streak doesn't fake an S-tier duo. The confidence dot on each card reflects the smallest sample count across the pairs we used.
