How we calculate this

Pick share is a map's slice of total matches played across the current filter, summed over every hero. In Overwatch, the map each match is played on comes out of the pre-match vote, so a higher pick share reflects what your lobby and the opposing lobby actually vote for, not a queue rotation.

Last 6 months trend is the same pick share computed per week, sourced from a rolling hero-per-map-per-week table. Newer maps start mid-chart once they hit the rotation.

Most played heroes on a map are the three heroes with the highest raw match counts there. Pick share next to a hero is their fraction of matches on that map, across every filter you have selected.

Best performing heroes are ranked by Bayesian-shrunk win rate, not raw win rate. Shrinkage pulls low-sample heroes toward 50% so a hero with five wins in ten matches can't beat a hero with a thousand matches at 56%. Heroes with fewer than 80 matches on the map are excluded outright.

Sample caveat. The data comes from Counterwatch community matches, not the full game population. It's a large slice (tens of thousands of matches a week), but treat it as a preference signal from our players rather than an authoritative league-wide measurement.

Frequently asked questions

How are the best Marvel Rivals heroes picked per map?
Heroes are ranked by Bayesian-shrunk win rate on each specific map. Shrinkage pulls low-sample heroes toward 50% so a hero with a thousand matches at 54% can outrank one with twenty matches at 62%. Heroes below 80 matches on the map are excluded.
Is this based on real match data?
Yes. Every number comes from Counterwatch community matches pulled through our Overwolf app. It isn't the full Marvel Rivals population, but it's a large, consistent sample refreshed daily.
Why is Marvel Rivals grouped by game mode instead of ranked?
Marvel Rivals doesn't let players vote on maps, so a global pick-share ranking mostly reflects how often the matchmaker draws each map rather than player preference. Grouping by game mode (Convoy, Convergence, Domination) makes it easy to scan map-specific matchups, which is the signal that actually helps you pick heroes.
