Frequently asked questions

Which Marvel Rivals hero should I main in Season 7?
The strongest picks per role this season are Peni Parker (Vanguard), Magik (Duelist), White Fox (Strategist). These heroes lead our Maintainability Score, which blends win rate, per-map consistency, matchup strength against the meta, synergy breadth, and sample-size confidence. Pick the one whose role fits your playstyle. All three are statistically safe to one-trick right now.
What is the best OTP (one-trick) hero in Marvel Rivals in Season 7?
Across all three roles, Peni Parker (Vanguard), Magik (Duelist), White Fox (Strategist) are the best one-tricks this season. A good OTP needs more than a high win rate. They also have to perform on most maps and against the heroes you'll actually face on ladder. All picks on this page clear that bar.
Who is the best meta hero in Marvel Rivals right now?

Yes. Peni Parker is currently the top-ranked pick for their role, leading the Maintainability Score on this page. You can see the full breakdown (win rate, consistency, vs meta, synergies, and confidence) in the feature card above.
How often does this list change?
We regenerate the rankings every day at around 07:00 UTC from thousands of tracked matches. Expect the top picks to stay stable over a patch cycle and to shift when balance updates or new heroes drop.
How we chose these heroes

Each hero is scored on a composite Maintainability Score designed for players who want to main a hero across many games. The score combines five signals, each normalised to a 0–100 scale and weighted as follows:

  • Win rate (30%).The hero's Bayesian-shrunk win rate, normalised against the site's tier thresholds. Shrinkage pulls low-sample heroes toward 50% so noisy data can't inflate the score.
  • Consistency (20%). One minus the max-min per-map win rate spread. A hero that wins 52% everywhere beats one that wins 60% on two maps and 42% on the rest.
  • Vs meta (20%).The hero's average win rate specifically against the top-quartile heroes by win rate. Captures matchup resilience against the heroes you'll actually face on ladder, which is orthogonal to map win rate.
  • Synergy breadth (15%). The average shrunk synergy win rate across every ally, weighted by how often each ally is played. Penalises heroes that only work with one specific teammate.
  • Confidence (15%). A logistic function of total tracked matches. A hero with 50k matches saturates near the top; one with 1k gets heavily discounted. Keeps small-sample outliers from leading a role.

We apply a hard eligibility floor before scoring: a hero needs at least 5,000 tracked matches (1,000 for Stadium, given the smaller pool) and a shrunk win rate of 49% or better.

Honourable mentionssurface heroes that don't win the top spot but shine in a specific situation: dominating a particular division, only struggling when you drop one map from the rotation, or hard-countering the current meta hero. We never repeat heroes across categories, and fall back to the next-highest overall score when a situational pick isn't available.
