Torbjörn has the best win rate in the first month of Overwatch Season 5, A Grim Doctrine

Torbjörn won 57.02% of his matches over the three full weeks from 12 October to 1 November 2026, the best of any hero in Season 5 so far. Vendetta is next at 55.43%, so his lead over the rest of Damage is more than a point and a half, and no Tank or Support comes within two points of him. The launch days, 6 to 11 October, are left out because that week also holds the end of Season 4.

Every number here is a win rate with 400-match Bayesian shrinkage, pooled across divisions, game types and gameplay maps. Season 5 started on 6 October at 18:00 UTC, so this is a little under four weeks in, and the current week is still open and left out. It is an early read, and the lower places in each role will move as the season's sample grows.

Torbjörn is ahead over about 31,100 hero-matches. Vendetta has the bigger sample of the two, about 38,000. Symmetra and Venture are third and fifth on about 14,600 and 14,300, the smallest samples in the top five, so read those two places loosely. Mei sits between them at 53.42% over about 44,200. Genji is just outside the five, sixth at 53.06% over about 68,400. Mei and Genji are both played more than Torbjörn, and both sit between three and four points behind him, so his lead is not a small-sample effect. Pharah and Junkrat are seventh and eighth, both still above 52%.

Reinhardt is first at 54.27% on about 64,600 hero-matches, about twice Domina's sample. The gap between them is small enough that a few dozen results either way would swap the order. Winston is third at 53.26%, then Doomfist at 52.33% and D.Mon at 51.73%. Hazard, Wrecking Ball and Junker Queen fill the next three places, all between 50% and 52%.

Zenyatta leads at 54.43% over about 45,500 hero-matches, with Brigitte second at 52.79%. Doctrine is third, and her 127,624 hero-matches are more than any other hero has in these weeks. Lúcio is fourth, and Sombra, now a Support, is fifth at 51.26% over about 85,700, the second largest sample among the top eight Supports after Doctrine.
