The rest of the score comes from how the candidate performs overall, how well it pairs with the heroes you already run, how it does on the maps in rotation, and how much data is behind all of that, so a thin sample does not push a hero up the list on noise. The result is a shortlist ordered by how much each hero would actually strengthen your pool, not by raw win rate.

Why coverage beats raw win rate

The highest win-rate hero in the game is not always your best next pick. If it loses to the same comps your current mains already lose to, learning it leaves the same hole open. Expand hero pool is built to find the hero that patches a weakness, which is why counter coverage is weighted ahead of everything else. A pick that turns a losing matchup into a winnable one moves your results more than a marginally stronger pick that overlaps what you already have.
