Composition
Keep filling both sides. The comp read sharpens as you pick.
Pick 1 more hero to lock in your comp.
Pick 3 more heroes to lock in their comp.
Composition is a descriptive read, not a separate input to the win chance above. Hero counters and synergies already encode these interactions per matchup.
What are POKE, RUSH, and DIVE?
Long-range damage to wear down enemies before they can engage. Relies on sightlines and sustained pressure.
Close-range brawling with sustained damage and healing. Overwhelms through sheer pressure and staying power.
High mobility to isolate and burst down key targets. Relies on coordination and quick engagements.
The three archetypes form a rock-paper-scissors cycle: poke beats rush, rush beats dive, dive beats poke. Your team's comp is the average of every picked hero's poke, rush, and dive scores. Scores are sourced from community compositions research and tuned inside the Counterwatch desktop app.
The composition rating is a descriptive readout, not a separate input to the win chance above. Hero-vs-hero counters and synergies already capture how individual matchups play out, so adding a comp-level score on top would double-count the same signal.
Ban suggestions
Heroes to ban before the match
Bans happen before picks, so this only looks at your team. Ranks the heroes that hurt your lineup most when they show up.

How is this calculated?
Three lenses on the same data, all filtered to enemies whose counter rating against your team is positive. The rating comes from one-on-one duels and teamfight outcomes in community matches, not match win rate, and it strips each hero's general strength so only the matchup remains. The rating on the row is the same value shown on the hardest-matchups card, and matchups need 50+ contributing players before they appear at all.
- Combined: pickrate multiplied by counter rating. The default. A moderate counter you'll face every other match ranks higher than a hard counter nobody plays.
- Pickrate: how often the hero shows up in this slice. Useful when you want to ban someone you'll definitely face.
- Counter strength: the counter rating alone, ignoring frequency. Useful when you want to remove your worst matchup regardless of how often they're picked.
Whole teamaverages across every friendly hero you've picked. Switching to a single hero scopes the suggestions to that hero's matchups only, regardless of teammates.
Per-map ban data isn't available yet. Matchups in our dataset aren't broken down by map.
The confidence dots on each row reflect how many players contributed duel data to that matchup. A niche hero with a thin player base lands lower on the dots even when their rating is high, so you can tell which bans are battle-tested and which are still forming.
How the counter calculator works
Each hero in your lineup is scored against the opposing team using community counter data from thousands of tracked matches. Higher Counter scores mean the hero historically wins the matchup against the enemies you've picked.
Synergy scores come from community pair win rates (how well a hero performs when paired with each of their teammates). When a map is selected, we also factor in each hero's win rate on that specific map.
The overall win chance prediction at the top blends counter primacy (50%), synergy composition (30%), and map advantage (20%). It's clamped to 5-95% so a partial lineup never reads as guaranteed.
Using the team builder for counter picking
When the enemy team locks in, fill their side first, then try candidate heroes for your role and watch each slot's Counter score and the overall win chance react. A hero with a 60% Counter score against this specific composition is a far safer pick than one stuck near 50%.
What makes a strong team composition
Strong compositions have three qualities at once: heroes that individually counter the enemy, teammates who synergise with each other, and a roster that fits the map. The team builder surfaces all three so you can balance them at a glance.
How ban suggestions are ranked
Once you pick heroes on your side, the ban block lists the enemies most likely to hurt your lineup. Ranking is counter strength (how hard the enemy counters your picks, summed across your team from duel data) multiplied by per-match pickrate (how often the hero actually shows up in the current slice). A hero that hard-counters one of your picks but almost never gets played ranks below a meta-frequent hero with a smaller edge, because banning a no-show is a wasted ban. Bans happen before picks, so this only looks at your side of the board.
